Doris and I had the best time photographing Stacey and Jason’s wedding at Lake Shawnee on Saturday.  The weather put a big fear in me that morning as I was working in my office designing a wedding day storybook and look out the window to see nothing but rain rain rain.  This was at 10am and Stacey and Jason’s wedding was at 4:30pm.  However, about 2pm the weather cleared up and the rest of the day was great.  Stacey and Jason had a very nice wedding and was super fun to take around the lake for their romantic photographic session.  We made several stops around the lake and captured some truly amazing images.  I am currently looking at three of their images to select one to be a replacement to one of our two big 16 x 24’s on our portfolio wall in our studio office as the two we have currently are getting out dated and needs to be changed out.  We will have to see if one of the three will make the wall.  Here is the “Sneak Peek” from Saturday.  I hope to have remaining editing completed in a few days, then start on their wedding day storybook.  And don’t forget about us now being on Facebook.  We have posted Stacey & Jason’s Wedding Album.

Well we’ve gone and done it.  We have open or started a facebook account for ProPhotos by Brian.  We have just started with it and have lots of items to add and build, but hope to really have it running by end day tomorrow.  So here on the blog, the link for “follow us on facebook” is located on the right hand column.  On our website the link is located on the front page on the right side. 

So keep checking back as we are going to be doing as much posting on facebook as we can.  I know Doris has already gotten a couple post up.  Let us know if you like it or if you see places for improvement.  Doris has been using facebook for a while with her family, however I have stay away and am very new to it and it will be a fun learning processing for me I’m sure.

Tomorrow starts our very very busy 2012 wedding season.  Doris and I will be shooting a wedding every weekend for the next 6 weekends in a row.  Then we get one weekend off, well she does, I have a AP assignment that weekend.  Then we shift into high gear as we have Friday’s, Saturday’s, Sunday’s and even a Thursday wedding for the next 7 weeks with a couple of engagement sessions to change things up a little.  So… I just thought it would be a cool thing to blog a “Look Back” to last years weddings.  Doris and I would like to say THANK  YOU to all of our brides and grooms that let us photograph and be apart of their special day.  We enjoyed each and every one.  Here a look back collage to 2011.

As we wake up tomorrow ready to rock & rock with our photography for the 2012 wedding season, we are as excited as every to work with our new brides and grooms and to capture their special day and to make 2012 bigger and cooler than even 2011.  And…. 2013, hummm, it’s shaping up to be a contender.

What do you get when you have a fun couple and a fun photographer meeting up in a cool location?  Great photos!  And that is just what we did yesterday.  I met up with Shabrae and James at Ward Meade Park and had a really good time shooting some photos for their engagement.  I am looking forward to capturing their wedding as well in August at Lake Shawnee. What a great couple to photograph!  I hooked up with Sonya and Tye yesterday at Ward Meade Park to capture their engagement photos and I had a lot of fun doing so.  I really do believe I could have kept shooting them until dark and maybe even after.  Sonya and Tye will be getting married right around the corner in June.  Doris and I will be photographing their wedding and I’m sure after working with them yesterday that it’s going to be a super event to photograph as well.  Here is the “Sneak Peek” from yesterday.

Doris and I had a blast capturing Lanette and Zach’s engagement photos.  Lanette and Zach are getting married in May and came to us to shoot their engagement.  I was trill to do so.  They are a wonderful couple and a lot of fun in front of the camera.  Doris tag along on this one to be my assistance and as normal she took over one of my cameras and shot away.  She got some really cool shots.  Here is the “Sneak Peek” from the shoot and I am not going to note which images are shot by Doris and which are shot by me.  Ha!

Today I met up with Ashli & Tom to capture their engagement photos.  I think all three of us was wondering most of the day if the weather was going to clear and allow our photographic session to take place.  Well… The weather did clear and we had a great time with our session.  Ashli and Tom will be getting married in September of this year at The Woodward in Topeka.  Doris and I have shot several weddings at The Woodward and are looking forward to returning and capturing Ashli and Tom’s wedding day.  Here is the “Sneak Peek” from today’s shoot.

We are very happy to be going into our 2012 wedding season with the new amazing Canon 5D mkIII.  For wedding photographers who shoot in the photojournalistic style such as Doris and myself, the 5D mkIII with it’s high ISO standards is the best tool on the market.  This year I will be capturing weddings with Canon’s top two professional level cameras in the 1D mkIV and the 5D mkIII.  Doris has also moved up in the camera world, but choosing to go with the Pentax K5, the best in Pentax’s Professional line-up.  Some of you who I have already shot your engagement session this year have seen Doris’s new Pentax K5’s as I have been shooting all engagement sessions with them.  I’ll hold off on going into my own details about the 5D mkIII and let you review Canon’s write up.
